Aim: Acromegaly is associated with accelerated atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. Nitric oxide (NO) is enzimatically formed from L-arginine by endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). Several studies have shown that reduction in NO synthesis causes endothelial dysfunction and impaired endothelium-dependent vasodilation.
